Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Motor Mechanic (General) / Automotive Light Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a range of light vehicles to a high professional standard.


Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in light vehicles

  • Conducting routine servicing and maintenance (oil changes, brakes, suspension, etc.)

  • Repairing engines, transmissions, and vehicle systems

  • Performing safety checks and inspections

  • Using diagnostic tools and workshop equipment correctly

  • Maintaining accurate job records and reporting any additional repair needs

  • Ensuring all work is completed to safety and quality standards


Minimum Requirements 

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • A relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification in Automotive Engineering (or overseas equivalent),
    OR

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a Motor Mechanic/Automotive Technician

Additional requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

  • Full driver’s licence preferred
