We are seeking two reliable and experienced Chefs for our busy Indian Restaurant in  Auckland.

Pay: Minimum $26.00 and maximum $35.00  

Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed  

Work experience: Two years of relevant work experience  

Timing of the Shifts of Work: will have a mixture of split shifts throughout the week,  generally not past 9.00 am – 9.00 pm on evenings from Sunday to Monday, Required in  Public Holidays 

Job Description:  

• Overseeing kitchen operations to ensure they run smoothly  

• Monitoring the quality of dishes from basic preparation through to service to  customers.  

• Portioning food and adding dressings to ensure excellent presentation  

• Able to meet any special dietary requirements  

• Cooking all authentic Indian curries, Tandoori dishes, Traditional Sweets, and Snacks  

• In-Depth knowledge of authentic Indian sweets and dessert making.  

• The area of Skills and Traits must be to prepare the Traditional Indian Sweets, All types of Laddo, Zalebi, Many Types of Burfi, Rasgoola, Besan, Gulab Jamuns,  Peda, Kalakand, Shakar pare, Matri, Petha, Milk Cake, Ballo Shahi, Boondi  badana, Chjum Chum, Samosa, Kachori, Allo tikki, Papri Chaat etc.

• Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs  

• Ordering food requirements as per the menu  

• Conducting stock takes and reporting to the manager  

• Handling customer complaints and discussing them with staff  

• Selecting, supervising, and training kitchen staff, advising them on cooking  procedures.  

• Keeping waste to a minimum and maintaining kitchen cleanliness  

• Maintaining the kitchen to excellent hygiene standards in accordance with ‘Hygiene  Certification’ requirements.  

• Maintaining personal hygiene and upholding high standards of health and safety
