An exciting opportunity has become available for a Communications Coordinator to support health projects focused on improving outcomes for Māori and Pacific communities.  Located in Takapuna this role is starting asap and will keep you busy through till Christmas. 

Working within the medical sector, this role supports the planning and delivery of communications for community-based health initiatives, including Rheumatic Fever prevention and Measles vaccination programmes. This is an ideal opportunity for someone early to mid-career in communications who is passionate about health equity and community wellbeing.

The Role

You will support both internal and external communications, working closely with project teams to ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and culturally appropriate. The role includes a mix of content creation, coordination, stakeholder support, and general administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and distribution of newsletters, updates, flyers, fact sheets, and digital content

  • Draft and edit content for emails, websites, social media, and printed materials

  • Support project teams with timely communication to stakeholders and community partners

  • Maintain communications schedules, content calendars, and templates

  • Coordinate approvals and distribution of communications materials

  • Provide administrative support, reporting, and record-keeping for communications activities

About You

  • 1–3 years’ experience in a communications, marketing, or administration role (or a relevant qualification)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Well organised with good attention to detail

  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines

Highly desirable:

  • Strong connections to, or experience working with, Māori communities

  • Understanding of te ao Māori and kaupapa Māori approaches

  • Experience supporting communications that engage Māori communities in a culturally appropriate way
