We are seeking an experienced and responsible Site Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Restaurant and adjoining Liquor Store, both operating from the same premises. The successful candidate will manage staff, ensure regulatory compliance (including Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 requirements), oversee financial performance, and maintain high customer service standards across both business units.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Oversee daily operations of both the restaurant and liquor retail store.

  • Supervise, train, and roster staff across both divisions.

  • Ensure compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, food safety regulations, and health & safety legislation.

  • Monitor stock levels, manage purchasing, and control inventory for food, beverages, and liquor products.

  • Manage budgets, cash handling, banking, and financial reporting.

  • Maintain supplier relationships and negotiate purchasing arrangements.

  • Handle customer complaints and ensure high service standards.

  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements, including Host Responsibility obligations.

  • Implement promotional activities and sales strategies to increase revenue.

  • Maintain accurate business records and operational documentation.

 


Skills and Experience Required  

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant management experience in hospitality, retail, liquor retail, or multi-site operations; OR

  • A relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification or higher in Business Management, Hospitality Management, or Retail Management.

Additionally, candidates must demonstrate:

  • Strong knowledge of retail and hospitality operations.

  • Understanding of alcohol licensing compliance in New Zealand.

  • Proven leadership and team management experience.

  • Budget management and stock control expertise.

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

Holding (or being eligible to obtain) a Manager’s Certificate under NZ alcohol licensing laws is preferred.
