We are seeking an experienced and motivated Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy Dairy Superette. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, stock control, customer service, and ensuring the overall profitability and smooth running of the store.

This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Position: Store Manager

Location: Kawerau, Bay of Plenty

Employment Type: Full-time

Pay Rate: $25 to $30

Work Hours: 30 to 40 hrs weekly

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily store operations, ensuring efficient and smooth performance

  • Ensure store opens and closes according to business hours

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and merchandising

  • Monitor and achieve sales targets

Stock & Inventory Control

  • Manage ordering and replenishment of stock

  • Conduct regular stocktakes and inventory checks

  • Monitor stock rotation and expiry dates

  • Minimize stock loss, shrinkage, and wastage

Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff

  • Prepare and manage staff rosters

  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback

  • Ensure staff deliver excellent customer service

Financial Management

  • Manage daily cash handling and till reconciliation

  • Monitor expenses and maintain cost control

  • Ensure accurate record keeping

Customer Service

  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction

  • Resolve customer complaints professionally

  • Foster positive relationships within the local community

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and retail regulations

  • Maintain store security procedures

  • Ensure restricted items are sold in accordance with legal requirements

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 1 year of retal experience or level 4 or higher qualification required

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
