Metal Machine Setter Wanted

Work Location: Auckland Region

Employment type: Full time (minimum 30 hours/per week, workdays from Monday to Saturday), Permanent role

Your pay: $31.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on your skills

JL Roofing Limited is a construction company based in Auckland. We are now looking for 1 Metal Machine Setter to join our supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right people and will allow access into a reputable and experienced company.

Tasks and responsibilities:

·       Analysing blueprints and specifications to identify appropriate materials, methods, operational sequences, and machine setups for roof components.

·       Utilizing precision measuring instruments to verify the accuracy, clearance, and fit of fabricated and assembled metal parts used in roofing.

·       Adjusting guides, stops, and other controls on machining equipment, configuring designated cutting and shaping tools and dies, and calibrating controls for machinery involved in roof production.

·       Shaping metal stock and castings to precise tolerances by employing machining tools for pressing, cutting, grinding, planning, boring, and drilling processes relevant to roofing materials.

·       Cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic lines that may be used in roof manufacturing systems.

·       Identifying and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, conducting routine maintenance on machines, and performing overhauls and repairs on mechanical components and hydraulic systems.

·       Assembling machines and equipment at the job site for urgent roof production processes.

The successful candidate must have:

·       Have at least 2 years’ work experience in the same field or industry, OR

·       Have a relevant level 4 qualification or equivalent

·       Good work ethic

·       Great communication & motivation

·       Physical fitness

·       Quality workmanship and eye for detail

·       Strong dedication to health and safety

·       Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
