We are looking for a few suitable Gardener Assistant to join our growing company based in Tauranga. The role is primarily to assist our Gardeners, learn the trade and eventually grow to become gardeners to work independently.

This is a full-time role with a minimum of 30 hours per week gauranteed.

Role responsibility:

  • Assist the gardener in maintaining and constructing gardens and landscapes
  • Assist the gardener in planting and plant care, gardening, weeding and mowing lawns
  • Responsible for health and safety checks
  • Flexible to work at different locations
  • Attention to details to fix things
  • Able to lay down turf and synthetic grass
  • Keep all tools and equipments clean.

You must have the following qualities: 

  • Relevant experience in a similar role would be an advantage
  • Ability to work outdoors under various weather conditions. 
  • Ability to operate landscaping equipment 
  • Ability to start work immediately
  • Good communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Flexible to work at different locations 
  • Must be physically fit to carry out daily tasks which involves heavy lifting, loading, unloading and operating manual machinery etc. 
  • Able to work on weekends/early morning start 
  • Able to pass drug test and Ministry of Justice check.
  • Valid Class 1 full drivers licence to commute to work sites would be advantageous

Full-time, permanent with minimum of 30 hours of work per week,
