Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Manual Lathe Machinist to manufacture and repair precision hydraulic components. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience machining parts such as cylinders, rods, bushings, pistons, and other components, with a strong focus on accuracy, surface finish, and reliability.

 


 

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate manual lathes to machine hydraulic parts

  • Machine components to tight tolerances and required surface finishes

  • Read and interpret hydraulic drawings and work instructions

  • Select cutting tools suitable for steel, chrome, and alloy materials

  • Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, bore gauges, calipers)

  • Repair and re-machine worn hydraulic components when required

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

  • Perform basic lathe maintenance and troubleshooting

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience operating manual lathes

  • Experience machining hydraulic cylinders or components

  • Strong understanding of tight tolerances and surface finish requirements

  • Ability to read technical and hydraulic drawings

  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments

  • High attention to detail and safety

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience with hydraulic repair or refurbishment

  • Technical or vocational training in machining

  • Experience working with high-pressure components
