Love Berries Limited is looking for a experienced Outdoor Crop Supervisor for its business
located in Matangi, Hamilton. We operate from two sites. We grow a variety of seasonal
fruit and vegetables which are then sold to the local and international markets.
This is a permanent full-time position working a minimum of 32 hours per week. Pay rate is
$30-34 per hour depending on prior experience and/or qualifications.


You must be available to work a range of hours including weekend work as our business is
also weather dependent. You must be able to travel from one site to the other independently and also may be required to transport seasonal workers. A company vehicle will be provided. The majority of this role is working outside and supervising and training seasonal workers. Some knowledge of crop production will be of benefit.


Duties include:-
- Optimize production of the outdoor crops within the constraints of the resources
available, while operating and maintaining work quality of staff in a professional
manner.
- To develop new practices, techniques and products to enhance returns by way of
fruit and vegetable volume and quality.
- To oversee production under the guidance of the Director and undertaken all
aspects of production and management of resources and people.
- Communicate with Director on a daily basis to update on production and
management progress
- Implement a work programme within the required timeframes
- Supervise and train staff to ensure quality and work standards are met within the
budget and product constraints.
- Maintain a safe working environment and practices for all parties within the
guidelines of the Company.
- When required, liaise with product sellers/marketers (eg Turners & Growers) for
product deliveries.


Skills and Experience Requirements
- Prior relevant experience in out crop production required of approximately 2-3
years
- Relevant qualifications may be of an advantage but not compulsory
- Full New Zealand Drivers Licenses
- Some knowledge and understanding of sprays, fertilizers etc relevant to seasonal
crops
- The desire to grow your knowledge and skills in the management field and in the
horticulture industry.
- A strong business-oriented focus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Enthusiastic about customer service excellence and the contribution you can
make to the business
- You will need to be flexible and good at negotiations.
- Full Drivers License required, with no driving convictions
- You may be required to produce a clear drug and alcohol test
