Experienced Plasterer wanted

Location: Auckland
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours of Work: Monday to Saturday; minimum 30 hours per week
Pay Rate: $25 – $35 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

 

The Standardsnz Interior Limited has been operating since 2023 and has built a strong and well-established client base across the Auckland region. We specialise in interior plastering services and pride ourselves on delivering high-quality workmanship through our experienced team of plasterers and professional customer service.

Due to continued business growth, we are seeking a reliable and skilled Plasterer to join our growing team based in Auckland. This is a full-time position offering consistent hours and competitive pay.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing surfaces for plastering, including cleaning, smoothing, and repairing walls and ceilings
  • Installing, fixing, and finishing plasterboard and related materials
  • Mixing plaster and applying coats by hand or machine to achieve smooth, even finishes
  • Sanding, sealing, and finishing surfaces ready for painting or decoration
  • Reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and job specifications
  • Ensuring work is completed to required quality standards and within agreed timeframes
  • Maintaining tools and equipment in safe working condition
  • Following all workplace health and safety policies and procedures
  • Keeping work areas clean, tidy, and safe at all times
  • Communicating effectively with supervisors, team members, and other trades on site
  • Performing any other reasonable duties related to the role as required by the employer

 

Candidate Requirements:

Applicants must meet at least one of the following:

  • Have a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in the plastering or construction industry; OR
  • Hold a Level 4 qualification or higher in Construction or a related field; OR
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in any field to demonstrate key transferable skills such as problem-solving, communication, time management, teamwork, learning agility, adaptability, professionalism, and accountability.

Additional Requirements:

  • A full New Zealand driver’s licence and ability to drive safely are preferred, as travel to various job sites across Auckland may be required.
  • Knowledge of safe handling of tools and materials
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Physically fit as the job involves performing manual tasks and heavy lifting
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Work well in a team environment
