These roles are essential to meet production schedules, maintain quality standards, and support growing customer demand.

Position Title: Wood Machinist
Number of Positions: 2
Location: Bay of Plenty, New Zealand
Pay Rate: $28 – $34 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience or Level 4 qualification.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate woodworking machinery to cut, shape, and prepare timber panels for cabinetry.
  • Read and interpret production drawings, measurements, and job specifications.
  • Set up machines, adjust settings, and complete routine maintenance.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of components for kitchen and joinery manufacture.
  • Monitor material usage and report defects or shortages.
  • Work with production teams to meet job schedules and deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment.
  • Inspect finished components for accuracy, finish, and quality compliance.
  • Assist with assembly preparation and other workshop tasks as required.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and machine operating protocols.
