Job Description
- Prepare and position machinery for operational use
- Select, install and detach attachments including buckets, winches, loading scoops, shovel blades and rock breaking hammers
- Operate controls to carry out excavation, breaking, drilling, levelling, compaction, trenching, material moving, loading and spreading of earth, rock, rubble, soil and other substances
- Monitor machinery operation and adjust controls to regulate operational pressure, speed and flow, while upholding the safety of other on-site workers
- Raise, lower and manoeuvre attachments via manual and hydraulic control systems
- Work in accordance with engineering drawings, site markers and verbal directions from supervisors
- Conduct routine servicing, lubrication, cleaning and refuelling of machinery, and perform minor calibrations and repair work
- Operate heavy excavation machinery to excavate, relocate and load earth, rock and rubble; valid registration or professional licensing is a mandatory requirement
- Undertake other reasonable work tasks as directed by the employer
Position Details
- Location: Auckland
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Pay Rate: $28.00–$35.00 per hour
- Days Required: 5–6 days per week, roster may apply
- Hours Per Week: Minimum 30 hours
Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience, or a Level 4 qualification in a relevant field from New Zealand, or an equivalent overseas qualification, or hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
