TotalCom Limited is a Tauranga-based Managed Service Provider (MSP) delivering tailored IT solutions across systems administration, networking, security, strategic planning, consulting, and hosted backup services. Our team supports a broad range of business clients and is known for practical problem-solving, strong technical capability, and building trusted long-term relationships.
 
About the Role:  We are seeking an Intermediate / Level 2 IT Support Engineer to join our growing team. This role suits someone with previous MSP experience who is confident providing support beyond Level 1, comfortable handling escalations, working independently on client issues, and providing on-site support when required.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing Level 2 IT support to a diverse client base
  • Handling escalated helpdesk issues and complex troubleshooting
  • Break-fix support and technical problem resolution
  • Installing, configuring, and supporting: Windows 11 Pro, Microsoft 365 environments
  • Supporting email, server, and desktop issues
  • Installing computers, devices, and basic network infrastructure
  • Working with Active Directory, user accounts, and permissions
  • Logging and managing work through the ticketing system
  • Providing professional, client-facing onsite support
  • Acting as a reliable, value-add technical resource for clients and the wider team 
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Proven experience in a Level 2 / Intermediate IT support role
  • Experience in an MSP environment
  • Must be Tauranga-based and fluent in written and spoken English
  • Have a full New Zealand driver's licence and your own reliable and presentable vehicle (TotaalCom vehicle provided after trial period)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft products and environments
  • A solid understanding of basic networking (routers, switches, firewalls)
  • Remote support experience and familiarity with: Active Directory, File permissions, DHCP, Network troubleshooting
  • Exposure to Microsoft Server environments
  • Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills with non-technical users
  • The ability to stay calm and organised under pressure
  • A professional presentation and strong attention to detail
  • A good sense of humour and a positive attitude
