Role Purpose:
This role involves performing a variety of painting and finishing tasks for residential and commercial projects. You will ensure high-quality workmanship that meets client expectations and industry standards, playing a vital role in transforming interior and exterior spaces. Your contributions will be essential to the overall success and reputation of Vinh Bui Painters Limited.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Read blueprints and instructions to assess project requirements and surface conditions.
  • Conduct on-site preparations, including erecting scaffolding, setting up ladders, and covering fixtures to protect surrounding areas.
  • Prepare surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, fixing holes and cracks, sanding and sealing as necessary.
  • Mix paint and other materials to achieve the desired color, texture, and consistency.
  • Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using various tools (brushes, rollers, spray guns) according to instructions.
  • Perform touch-ups and match paint samples for repairs and finishing.
  • Install wallpaper when needed, ensuring precise trimming and alignment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are cleaned after use.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations on-site.
  • Perform any additional tasks as reasonably requested by the employer. 

Pay rate

Minimum $29/hour, maximum $30/hour

 

Guaranteed hours of work per week

 Permanent, fulltime, minimum 30 hours per week

Requirements for the job

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience is required
  • Be physically fit
  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good color vision and aesthetic instincts
  • Time management skills to ensure tasks are completed on schedule
  • Fulltime availability between 9AM to 5PM from Monday to Friday
  • Be flexible working on weekends and night times required for some projects
  • No criminal records
  • Candidates need to be NZ citizens/residents or hold valid New Zealand work rights
