We’re on the lookout for a motivated and personable Business Development Manager to join our Wellington team.
This newly created role will be focusing on adding to our active customer base in the Lower Hutt and Porirua region.

The Role
This is a dynamic, on-the-road role perfect for someone who enjoys face-to-face engagement and creating meaningful connections with customers. You’ll be the key link between our clients and our business, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
You will be the key link in building new relationships and uncovering fresh opportunities within our existing customer base and adding new customers to your portfolio. Your focus will be on growing our presence in Johnsonville, Tawa and Porirua and Lower Hutt building new relationships, and uncovering fresh opportunities.
In addition to your time on the road, you’ll spend a few hours each week in our Wellington office to stay connected with the wider team, collaborate on initiatives, and handle essential admin tasks to keep operations running smoothly.
🛠 Key Responsibilities:
- Grow a small customer base into a large active customer portfolio
- Maintain a strong call cycle to ensure high customer satisfaction
- Negotiate and close sales, consistently exceeding targets
- Collaborate with Procurement and Warehouse teams to align supply with demand
- Provide tailored solutions that meet client needs
📍 Note: This is not a work-from-home role and may require occasional weekend phone availability.
About You
You’re a confident communicator with a passion for building strong client relationships. You thrive in a target-driven environment and bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
✅ You’ll Bring:
- Proven sales experience, ideally in food service or hospitality
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience is a bonus
- A self-motivated, independent work ethic
- A tertiary qualification (preferred)
- Knowledge of the food service industry (advantageous)
