About the opportunity:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a BAS Accountant to join a Wellington-based accounting practice supporting a diverse portfolio of business clients. This role offers a mix of compliance, advisory and systems work, providing strong client exposure and the chance to further develop your BAS career in a collaborative, close-knit environment.

 

Role description:

You will be responsible for managing end-to-end compliance and accounting services for business clients. The role combines annual accounts and tax preparation with forecasting, advisory support and involvement in systems and process improvement projects.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Annual accounts preparation and tax compliance
  • GST, PAYE, FBT and income tax services
  • Assistance with advisory support services which include client sale/purchase transactions, restructuring and tax advice.
  • Statutory returns, surveys and client obligations
  • Systems support and process improvement projects

This role will suit someone with all or some of the following background/experience/qualities:

  • 2–3+ years’ experience in a chartered accounting firm
  • Working knowledge of NZ tax and compliance
  • Experience using Xero accounting software
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills
  • CA qualified or working towards (degree qualified)
