On The Spot Pohara is a well-established and iconic community store located in the heart of Golden Bay. Serving locals, holidaymakers and tourists, the store offers grocery, convenience, liquor and takeaway offerings.

Under new ownership, we are seeking a Store Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the retail side of the business, allowing the owner to focus on further developing the takeaway offering.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys working in a community-focused retail environment.

The role
The Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of our store to ensure efficient, compliant and customer-focused service delivery.
  • Managing day-to-day retail store operations
  • Managing stock levels including ordering, merchandising and inventory control
  • Ensuring appropriate storage and handling of grocery and liquor products
  • Maintaining store presentation and merchandising standards
  • Managing point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures
  • Monitoring sales performance and implementing strategies to improve retail outcomes
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety and liquor licensing requirements
  • Managing supplier relationships and deliveries
  • Handling customer enquiries and resolving complaints
 
Pay
$30 – $32 per hour depending on experience
 
Hours of Work
  • Minimum 35 hours per week
  • Permanent full-time role
  • Work will include weekends and public holidays
 
Experience required
Applicants must have:
  • At least 3 years of relevant retail experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities
    OR
  • A relevant qualification at bachelor's degree level or higher (business, management, commerce etc)
