Diesel Mechanic

Job Details:

• Hourly Rate: $28.00 to $45.00

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on diesel vehicles, heavy machinery, and equipment, with a primary focus on excavators, bulldozers, and trucks.

• Conduct inspections to identify faults, wear, and mechanical issues, and perform diagnostics and breakdown repairs as required.
• Source, fit, and install necessary parts and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
• Support general workshop operations and contribute to efficiency improvements both on-site and in the workshop.

Job Prerequisites:

Applicants must meet one of the following:

• A relevant Bachelor’s qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or Engineering, or a recognised overseas equivalent; or
• At least three years of proven relevant work experience; or
• A recognised trade or occupational skill qualification in vehicle mechanical engineering.

• A current and clean driver’s licence (Class 2 and 4).
• Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and willingness to assist with additional duties when required.
