Bal Growers Limited operates a kiwifruit orchard in waikato region and is in the process of establishing its workforce. The company requires 3 x Farm Maintenance Workers to support the setup, daily maintenance, and ongoing development of orchard infrastructure. Also The business requires 2 x Fruit Production Supervisors to plan, coordinate, and oversee orchard activities, manage seasonal programmes, and lead future workers as they are hired.

Position Title: Farm Maintenance Worker
Number of Positions: 3
Location: Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand
Pay Rate: $24 – $28 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

  • No Experience or No Qualification needed.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation, repair, and maintenance of kiwifruit orchard structures such as posts, wires, trellis, gates, and irrigation systems.
  • Carry out basic servicing and cleaning of tools, equipment, and small machinery.
  • Support orchard development tasks including block preparation and vine establishment.
  • Load, move, and organise materials around the orchard site.
  • Report damage, faults, or maintenance needs to supervisors or owners.
  • Follow orchard health & safety procedures and use PPE correctly.
  • Support day‑to‑day maintenance tasks as directed by management.
  • Maintain orchard hygiene and biosecurity standards at all times.

 


 

Position Title: Fruit Production Supervisor
Number of Positions: 2
Location: Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand
Pay Rate: $28 – $34 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

 

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience or Level 4 Qualification.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily orchard activities around the sites.
  • Monitor vine health, irrigation, soil moisture, pest/disease risks, and crop load.
  • Plan and manage seasonal work programmes based on orchard schedules.
  • Train and supervise workers as the business grows and staffing increases.
  • Conduct quality checks to maintain fruit grade and orchard standards.
  • Ensure compliance with orchard health & safety requirements.
  • Allocate tasks, monitor productivity, and provide guidance to workers.
  • Maintain accurate orchard records and activity reports.
  • Oversee safe operation of orchard tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Liaise with owners on progress, orchard needs, and resource planning.
