Gardener

We are S-CON LIMITED, a lawn mowing company operating in Auckland. The majority of our sites are within Auckland, covering commercial and residential areas. 
We are seeking two energetic lawnmowers or Gardeners to join our company.

An Applicant will work at least 30 hours a week and be offered a pay rate of 27/- to $30/- an hour to the suitable candidate.

Job Duties you will perform:

• Prepare garden sites and plots using hand tools and machines.
  Preparing and finishing lawn surfaces by applying topsoil and planting grass or installing instant turf. 
• Preparing plans and drawings as per customer requirement, selecting materials and plants, and scheduling landscape construction for each site assigned. 
• Install and finish the work of hardscape and softscape structures.
  Examining trees to assess their condition and determine treatment.
• Preparing and maintaining seedbeds and growing sites as requested by the client.
• Ensuring site tidiness and the safe removal of green waste post-task completion.
• Ensuring work sites tidy and ensuring proper handling and transport of green waste to disposal centers.
• Loading, unloading, and moving garden supplies and equipment.
• Shaping and maintaining trees through controlled hedging techniques with hedge trimmers and hedge clippers
• Lopping limbs off trees and shaping branches using chain and handsaws as and when required.
• Cultivating and maintaining gardens.
• Mowing lawns, weeding gardens, and keeping green spaces and walkways clear.
• Complete the task of lawn mowing as instructed by the client.
• Complete the task accurately within the given timeline.
• Conduct feedback from the client upon completing the task and ensure customer Satisfaction.
• Maintaining planted and grassed areas by weeding, trimming, fertilizing, watering and mowing.
• Maintain lawnmowing equipment, including lawn mowers, line trimmers, hedge trimmers, & chainsaws.
• Always follow Health and safety regulations.
• Pruning shrubs & small bushes based on climate.
• Spraying plants & weeds, and trees to control insects and disease.
• Small tree removal & stump grinding.
• Setting out and installing hardscape and softscape structures
• Constructing gravel and paved areas, walls, fences, pergolas, ponds, barbecues and garden furniture
• Preparing plans and drawings, selecting materials and plants, and scheduling landscape construction. 

What we expect from you:

• 2- 3 Years of relevant work experience as a Gardener OR a Diploma degree can substitute for the work Experience requirement.
• Be physically fit - heavy lifting (25kgs) will be involved.
• A Valid International / New Zealand Driving License is required to drive a company car in New Zealand to travel between sites.
• Must be able to drive the company's Manual Car.
• Must not have any serious driving convictions.
• Not afraid of a little sun, wind or rain! (PPE provided).
• No experience is necessary - all training can be given.
• Honest and Reliable & a good team player.
• Must be drug-free. We have regular drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment tests.
• Able to start early morning & finish late evening in busy periods.
• Able to work on weekends and public holidays as many of our clients prefer.
• Able to communicate with customers.
