Gas Station Manager

Key Duties, Roles, and Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, and manage day-to-day operations of the gas station.

• Supervise, roster, and train staff to ensure efficient service delivery and compliance with company standards.

• Ensure high levels of customer service and promptly address customer enquiries or complaints.

• Monitor fuel sales, convenience store sales, and overall station performance.

• Manage stock levels, ordering, delivery, and inventory control for fuel and retail products.

• Oversee cash handling, POS operations, daily reconciliations, and reporting.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental regulations, and fuel handling standards.

• Implement loss prevention, security, and safety procedures.

• Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance of the premises and equipment.

• Prepare operational reports and assist with budgeting and cost control.

• Liaise with suppliers, service providers, and management as required.

Skills and Experience Required

• Relevant qualification at NZQF Level 4 or above, OR
  a minimum of two years’ relevant work experience in retail or service station management.

• Proven experience in staff supervision and operational management.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and cash handling.

• Understanding of workplace health and safety and compliance requirements.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
