We are looking for 2 fulltime Excavator Operators to join our team.

Position is responsible for the following:

Operate excavators and other earthmoving machines to dig, break, move, and load earth, rock, and debris. Complete foundation excavations for construction projects and civil excavation for municipal projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate late-model excavators (various tonnage) and other earthmoving machines to perform precision earthmoving and site preparation.

  • Coordinate with a fleet of six-wheeler trucks for efficient spoil removal and material delivery.

  • Prepare machines by selecting, fitting, and installing appropriate attachments.

  • Read detailed construction and civil plans, and position machines accurately for operation.

  • Operate and control machines to cut, excavate, break, drill, level, compact, and gouge out the ground.

  • Fill, move, load, and spread earth, rock, rubble, soil, and other materials.

  • Manipulate attachments using manual, electronic, or hydraulic controls.

  • Perform routine checks on machines, adjust controls to regulate operation, and ensure safety of other workers.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance on machines as required.

  • Follow verbal instructions and technical drawings to ensure work performance.

  • Clean, lubricate, refuel, adjust, and repair machines when required.

  • Carry out daily machine maintenance and adhere strictly to Health & Safety protocols.

About you:

  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in excavator operation within the civil construction industry) or a relevant NZQCF Level 4 qualification.
  • Full NZ Class 2 (or higher) Driver’s License with W, T, R endorsements.
  • Strong technical ability in reading site plans and executing final trim work.
