About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Duty Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our liquor store. The successful candidate will ensure smooth store operations, regulatory compliance, and a safe and welcoming environment for customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver prompt and professional customer service.
• Respond effectively to customer inquiries and complaints.
• Supervise, train, and support staff to maintain high service standards.
• Prepare staff rosters and assign duties.
• Assist with recruitment and performance management.
• Ensure all alcohol sales comply with NZ licensing laws and store policies.
• Manage stock control, inventory checks, and reordering.
• Oversee pricing, merchandising, and promotional displays.
• Maintain store cleanliness and enforce health and safety standards.
• Open and close the store and manage cash handling procedures.

Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of relevant retail or supervisory experience, preferably in a liquor store or similar environment.
• Must hold a current Duty Manager’s Licence OR LCQ (Licence Controller Qualification) under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
• Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required.
