GKSJ Enterprises Ltd is looking for a merchandising manager in the Otago region, Dunedin. New Zealand. Only New Zealand citizens, residents, or on an open work visas, can apply who has a two-year and eleven months or more work experience of merchandising at retail stores/companies. On-job training will be given to the successful candidate. He must have a driving licence of Class two.
Wages will be paid $28-$32/h and overtime will be paid at the same pay rate per hour.
Wages will be paid fortnightly into their nominated bank account.
Work will be full-time 30-35 hours per week.
Working hours: 5 am to 8 am and 2.30 pm to 8 pm or as flexibly required by the employer with weekend availability.
Merchandising Manager
Key responsibilities

Plan, organise and control for assigned stores/territory, including merchandising, promotions, and customer service standards.

Lead and manage merchandisers: recruit, roster, train, coach and conduct performance reviews.

Decide on product ranges, space allocation and visual presentation in line with company merchandising and pricing policies.

Monitor presentation and promotions on sales, margins and stock levels; take action to reduce out‑of‑stocks, shrinkage and slow‑moving inventory.

Implement local promotions, ensuring point‑of‑sale, displays and pricing are correct and on time.

Maintain relationships with store managers, key customers and suppliers to secure optimal space and promotional opportunities.

Prepare and manage budgets for merchandising materials and store operating costs within agreed limits.

Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety requirements, and relevant legal and trading standards.
- One needs to deliver the goods using the company truck or other vehicles, and for the fast deliveries to replenish the goods at the business, the use of a company car/any other vehicle as appropriate to be employed.

Use company vehicles to personally convey goods between company sites and customer locations, including urgent replenishment of fast‑moving and short‑dated items as required.
While undertaking these transport duties, comply with all applicable road, safety and transport requirements, and promptly report any operational or mechanical concerns relating to the vehicles to the appropriate line manager.
