We are currently recruiting for Fitter Machinist positions within our high-performing Hastings manufacturing facility:
Fitter Machinist– Manufacturing Team
About the Role:
This hands-on role supports the assembly and fitting of components and sub-assemblies used in Hustler's world-class agricultural machinery including new wagons, bale feeders and sprayers. Reporting to the Assembly Team Leader, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring our products are assembled with precision and ready for dispatch to clients in New Zealand and around the globe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fit and assemble mechanical components to specification
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Manual handling, lifting
- Troubleshoot and quality control
- Support production targets and deadlines
- Maintain safe working practices and clean workspace
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in general fitting, mechanical assembly, or similar trade
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Experience reading engineering drawings
- High attention to detail and workmanship standards
- Reliable, self-motivated and team-oriented
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment preferred
Working Hours & Benefits:
- Full-time permanent positions – minimum 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday (exact hours negotiable)
- Competitive hourly rate ($30–$35 per hour depending on experience)
