Our Client is a Mt Maunganui owned family Transport company specialising in Bulk Tipping, discharging ships on the Port of Tauranga to local stores and sites in BOP and Waikato. 

Experienced Class 5 driver is needed for our modern fleet of 9 Wheelers. 

This is a permanent full-time position with a minimum guaranteed 30 hours a week, with hours up to 65 hours a week. Work is day or nights with the ability to work on weekends essential when required.

The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Driving truck; carting bulk stock food, fertilizer and products in the BOP
  • Driving large truck and 5A trailer, jack-knifing and reversing as required
  • Flexibility - the business operates 7 days, 24 hours
  • Complying with all legislative requirements including but not limited to:
    • Load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weights
    • Meeting CVSC hours and logbook compliance

To be qualified for this role, you need to demonstrate:

  • At least 2-year relevant experience, preferably obtained in New Zealand
  • Holding a clean and valid Class 5 Driver's Licence  
  • Strong geographical knowledge of New Zealand, particularly BOP
  • Reliable and able to work on weekends and public holidays if required
  • Excellent English speaking and Tidy writing of documentation
  • Strong ability to understand and follow specific instructions, particularly in regards to tipping off loads
  • Confident and clear speaker using CB radio
  • Ability to complete work in an efficient and timely manner.
