About the Role

RAVI AND ALKA DAIRY is a well-regarded local business dedicated to serving the Wellington community. We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Dairy/Store Assistant to join our team and help us continue providing excellent service to our valued customers.

This is a hands-on role where you will be the face of our business. You will assist customers, manage stock, maintain the high standard of presentation in our store, and ensure all daily operations run smoothly. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in helping others, we would love to hear from you. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Greet and assist customers with enquiries, providing friendly and helpful advice across our full range of products.

• Stock Management: Assist with stock replenishment, rotation, and forward planning to ensure our shelves are always well-stocked. Monitor stock levels to minimise waste and loss.

• Store Presentation: Maintain a clean, organised, and inviting store environment. Ensure shelves, chillers, and product displays are well-presented and tidy.

• Sales & Promotions: Assist with in-store promotions and creative merchandising to enhance the customer shopping experience.

• Point of Sale (POS) Operations: Operate the till system accurately, handle cash, process payments, and manage transactions with a high level of accuracy.

• Product Knowledge: Sell a wide range of convenience items, including groceries, snacks, drinks, ice cream, and other dairy products, in accordance with store policies and relevant regulations.

• Physical Tasks: Perform heavy lifting as required for stock handling and delivery processing.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Experience: At least 6 months of experience in a retail or customer-service role is preferred but not essential—a great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.

• Qualification: High School or College graduate.

• Good numerical skills and attention to detail for cash handling and inventory tasks.

• The ability to suggest products and assist customers with their purchases.

• Reliability and a strong work ethic.

• Flexibility to work rostered shifts, as our store operates 7 days a week.
