XCast - Production Technician
Purpose of the role
As we expand and ramp up production, we have multiple Production Technician roles within our dry-cast pipe factory. These positions run the dry‑cast pipe machine under the guidance of the Team Lead. The role focuses on machine operation, material handling, and quality inspection to ensure consistent, high‑quality concrete pipes.
There will be a training period on dayshifts to begin with transitioning to a permanent night shift, so flexibility around this is a must.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare the machine for production, including cleaning, checking moulds, and loading materials.
- Operate the dry‑cast pipe machine during production cycles.
- Monitor the concrete mix and report any inconsistencies.
- Inspect each pipe for cracks, shape accuracy, and surface finish.
- Assist with mould changes, machine adjustments, and minor troubleshooting.
- Keep the work area clean and follow all safety procedures.
- Work closely with the Team Lead and other operators to maintain smooth production flow.
- Support general factory tasks when required (e.g., moving materials, basic cleaning).
Skills and attributes
- Mechanical awareness and willingness to learn machine operation.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment is required
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in an industrial environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety‑conscious.
