Our Auckland team in Mangere is seeking an experienced and committed Inwards Goods Assistant with previous experience in a similar role. 

This position is crucial to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse and plays a vital role in maintaining the quality and integrity of our product inventory.

  • Full-time permanent role.
  • Roster: 5 days per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Hours: 6.00 am to 3.00 pm
  • Location: Ihumatao Road, Mangere (near International airport)
  • Immediate start

The job:

 

As an all-rounder, you’ll support the operations team in various tasks. The ideal candidate will have a solid warehouse background, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn our in-house software, SAGE. A current forklift licence is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and accurately record all incoming goods (chiller, freezer, and ambient).
  • Unload and check product quality, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Barcoding, pricing, and documentation of inwards goods.
  • Handle discrepancies, damages, and stock variances efficiently.
  • Ensure proper labelling and categorization of all items.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inwards goods area.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse team for proper storage and stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Perform regular stock checks and assist with inventory management.
  • Process paperwork and data entry accurately and on time.
  • Assist with outgoing orders and returns.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
  • Perform heavy lifting and work in temperature-controlled environments.

The Ideal Candidate

While prior experience in a similar role or the food/warehousing industry is an advantage, it is not essential. We value reliability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.

Key qualifications and skills include:

  • Forklift licence (required)
  • Physical fitness for heavy lifting and cold environments
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Reliable attendance, flexibility and own transportation
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new systems
  • Previous warehouse or pick-packing experience (desirable)
  • Knowledge of basic food ingredients and NZ work experience (a plus)
  • Positive, honest, and reliable team player with excellent communication skills
