Service Foods is looking for an energetic, relationship‑driven Account Manager to join our Tāmaki Makaurau team.

About Us

At Service Foods, we are passionate about delivering exceptional service and premium-quality products to New Zealand’s food service and hospitality industry. As the country’s largest privately owned and fully integrated food distribution business, we’re proud to have been recognised by Deloitte as one of New Zealand’s Best Managed Companies in 2023 and 2024.

We’re more than just a business — we’re a whānau. Our culture is dynamic, inclusive, and built on whanaungatanga (relationships). Your ideas will be valued, and your growth will be supported.

The Role

We’re searching for a driven and experienced Account Manager who thrives on face‑to‑face engagement and building strong, lasting customer relationships.

This is a dynamic, on‑the‑road position covering your own assigned territory within Tāmaki Makaurau. You’ll be responsible for developing, nurturing, and growing this area—building new opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing clients.

You’ll also spend a few hours each week at our South Auckland office to stay connected with the wider team, collaborate on initiatives, and complete essential administration to keep things running smoothly.

🛠 Key Responsibilities

  • Design strategy and set goals for growth in line with branch objectives — including growing revenue and EBIT across all categories
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts within your assigned territory
  • Identify and qualify sales prospects within your designated region
  • Prospect, convert, and develop new clients
  • Maintain and grow gross margins
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customer accounts
  • Identify and resolve client concerns as required
  • Maintain a strong call cycle to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Negotiate and close sales, achieving and exceeding targets
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Warehouse teams to align supply with customer demand
  • Provide tailored solutions that meet each client’s needs

About You

You’re a confident communicator who thrives in a target-driven environment and enjoys building strong, long-term client relationships. You bring a proactive, solutions-focused approach and the professionalism needed to represent Service Foods out on the road.

✅ You’ll Bring

  • Proven sales experience — ideally in food service or hospitality
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Exposure to Salesforce and Tableau (preferred)
  • Excellent record‑keeping, accuracy in admin tasks, and a strong ability to meet and exceed sales targets
  • A full, clean New Zealand driver licence
  • A self‑motivated, independent work ethic
  • Tertiary qualification (preferred)
  • Knowledge of the food service industry (beneficial)

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary + sales incentives
  • Career development within a fast-growing, forward-thinking organisation
  • Supportive, inclusive team culture
  • Real opportunities to make an impact and shape your territory

Our Values

Creativity, resilience, inclusivity, collaboration, work ethic, and humility guide everything we do. We celebrate the diversity of Aotearoa and foster a workplace where everyone can thrive and be their authentic selves.
