We’re looking for a commercially minded and data‑driven E-commerce Manager to take full ownership of our B2B ecommerce and vendor management platforms.

This is a pivotal role where you’ll shape our digital trading strategy, optimise the online customer journey, and drive strong commercial outcomes across traffic, conversion, revenue, and retention.

Te Tūranga | The Role:

You’ll work cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, IT, Operations, Category, and Customer Service to deliver a seamless, high‑performing online experience that supports business growth and strengthens customer loyalty.

This role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on execution — ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced digital environment and has a proven record of improving online sales performance. Your core focus: maximise online revenue, profitability, and customer engagement through strong platform management, digital optimisation, and data‑led decision‑making.

🛠 Key Responsibilities

Ecommerce Strategy & Trading

  • Lead and execute the ecommerce strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Own the trading calendar, including promotions, launches, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Identify growth opportunities across acquisition, CRO, AOV, and CLV.
  • Monitor competitors and emerging ecommerce trends to maintain advantage.
  • Provide data‑driven insights and performance recommendations.

Platform Management & Online Sales

  • Oversee daily performance, optimisation, and stability of the B2B ecommerce platform.
  • Improve conversion through enhanced merchandising, navigation, search, content, and checkout.
  • Analyse key ecommerce metrics (traffic, conversion, AOV, abandonment, revenue, retention) and execute improvements.
  • Manage platform tools, integrations, vendors, and third‑party partners.
  • Work with IT and Operations on system integrations, feature requirements, and successful deployments (including UAT).
  • Partner with Marketing to optimise digital acquisition and campaign performance.

Customer Experience, Loyalty & Retention

  • Support loyalty and retention initiatives to increase repeat purchase and lifetime value.
  • Use customer data to personalise the online experience.
  • Enhance the end‑to‑end digital journey across all touchpoints.
  • Act on customer feedback and service insights to improve overall experience.

Performance, Reporting & Optimisation

  • Define and report on ecommerce KPIs to leadership.
  • Build dashboards and reporting frameworks to track performance and customer trends.
  • Conduct A/B testing and optimisation experiments.
  • Manage budgets and ensure strong ROI across digital initiatives.

We’re looking for someone with a Degree or Diploma in IT, Digital Marketing, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience), alongside the following capabilities:

Essential skills and attributes

  • 5+ years leading ecommerce platforms
  • Proven ability to drive online sales growth, conversion, and customer retention
  • Hands‑on experience with ecommerce platforms (ideally bespoke), CMS, CRM, and digital integrations
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce operations: merchandising, checkout optimisation, payment gateways, inventory links, fulfilment workflows
  • Advanced analytical capability interpreting ecommerce metrics (conversion rate, AOV, CLV, ROAS, abandonment, retention)
  • Experience with analytics tools (GA4 or similar) for reporting and optimisation
  • Skilled in A/B testing, UX improvements, and CRO initiatives
  • Strong project management with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Excellent stakeholder and cross‑functional communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with a customer‑centric mindset
  • Creative problem-solver with strong commercial acumen
  • Highly organised with excellent time management and decision‑making skills
  • Proactive, independent, and confident managing competing priorities
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate
