Painter

This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and long-term opportunities for the right candidate.

- Pay Rate:  from $29.00 to $31.00 per hour

- Work Hours: Minimum of 40 hours, maximum 50 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

- Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary

 - Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by removing old paint and wallpaper, fixing holes and cracks, smoothing and sealing, etc.

- Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools

 - Apply varnish and other finishes

 - Match paint samples for touch-up

 - Hanging wallpaper when required, trimming edges - Cleaning equipment and work area

- Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions

- Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding and ladders, covering fixtures etc.

 - Any other duties the employer reasonably may require employee to perform

Requirements: 

- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience

- Strong knowledge of painting materials, mixing, and application techniques

- Solid understanding of construction painting practices and use of appropriate tools

 - Physically fit and capable of working independently or in a team

- Full-time availability and flexible working hours

- Flexibility to work on weekends if required

- No criminal record

- Must be a New Zealand citizen/resident or hold a valid work right
