About the opportunity:

Cuddon is seeking an experienced Stainless Workshop Supervisor to lead and coordinate its stainless steel and sheetmetal workshop in Marlborough. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the efficient day-to-day running of a busy fabrication environment.

Managing a team of approximately 16–20 staff, you will oversee workflow, project delivery, quality, safety and budget performance. This role will suit a trade-qualified fabrication professional who combines strong leadership capability with solid project management experience and a commitment to operational excellence.

Role description:

The Stainless Workshop Supervisor is responsible for the overall performance of the stainless workshop, including staff leadership, project planning, fabrication oversight and delivery to budget, quality and HSE requirements across stainless and sheetmetal workstreams.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing daily operations of the stainless workshop

  • Supervising stainless and sheetmetal fabrication activities

  • Planning and scheduling project and jobbing work

  • Ensuring projects meet budget, quality and HSE targets

  • Coordinating procurement, milestones and warranty responses

Workshop scope includes stainless fabrication of Cuddon Freeze Dryers, tube and pipe fabrication, general stainless fabrication, and sheetmetal jobbing work, while supporting other departments as required.

This role will suit someone with all or some of the following background/experience/qualities: 

  • Advanced Trade Qualification (NZQA Level 5 minimum)

  • Minimum 5 years in a fabrication supervisory role

  • Proven workshop and staff management experience

  • Strong stainless and sheetmetal fabrication background

  • Solid project management capability

You will also demonstrate exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal capability, relationship-building experience, and sound computer literacy.
