Join Our Growing Team in Auckland!

We are a young, dynamic construction company based in Auckland, and we are looking for motivated and skilled bricklayers to join our team. We have multiple positions available with competitive pay and flexible hours.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lay building materials such as bricks, structural tiles, concrete blocks, glass blocks, gypsum, and terracotta blocks to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, sewers, and other structures.

  • Measure distances from reference points and mark guidelines on working surfaces to lay out the work.

  • Spread a bed of mortar to serve as the base and binder for blocks, using a trowel.

  • Apply mortar to the ends of blocks and position them in the mortar bed.

  • Tap blocks with a trowel to level, align, and embed them in the mortar, allowing for the specified joint thickness.

  • Remove excess mortar from the face of blocks using a trowel.

  • Finish mortar joints between bricks using a pointing tool or trowel.

  • Cut or break bricks to fit spaces too small for whole bricks, using a brick hammer or the edge of a trowel.

  • Check and maintain vertical and horizontal alignment of courses using a plumb bob, gauge line, and spirit level.

  • Fix brick or terracotta veneer to the face of structures using tie wires embedded in mortar between bricks or inserted into holes in veneer bricks.

  • Apply plaster to walls and ceilings using a trowel when required to complete repair or finishing work.

  • Perform other duties reasonably required by the business representative.

Requirements: 

  • At least two years of relevant work experience, supported by appropriate evidence. (experience gained in the same industry will be considered as meeting the experience requirements) 

  • Relevant qualifications are preferred but not essential.

  • Physically fit and able to handle manual and physically demanding work.

  • Demonstrated high-quality workmanship with strong attention to detail.

  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices.

  • Job Salary : $29.00 – 32.00

  • Full time:  30 - 50 hours per week

  • Working place: Auckland Region
