Take the next step in your career - seeking a motivated HVAC&R Service Supervisor to support our field technicians and provide top level customer service to our clients.  Your time will be spent out in the field and back at the branch assisting in compliance, quoting and other such tasks.

An opportunity has become available in our Palmerston North branch for a Refrigeration & HVAC Service Supervisor.  We’re looking for a dedicated individual ready to take the next step in their career.  You will play a key role in taking our service delivery to new heights. You’ll need a strong focus on providing top level customer service and will be instrumental in supporting our field technicians to be the best of the best.  You will need to balance your priorities with time out in the field and time back at the branch assisting in compliance, quoting and other such tasks.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide appropriate support to the local team through communication and provision of technical support and mentoring
  • Participation in an on-call roster (with great rates)
  • Be proactive in providing assistance to other employees and sub-contractors
  • Ensure that all maintenance work is carried out as per relevant contracts
  • Ability to determine job priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Liaise with clients and/or their representatives to discuss/resolve any issues arising from maintenance contracts or other work carried out
  • Prepare quotations or estimates for installation or maintenance and/or related work as requested
  • Ensure all BwoF/12a requirements are completed in a timely manner
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and processes to achieve high-quality business delivery objectives and outcomes to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Pro-actively strengthen customer relationships and create opportunities within the Equans business and community.

Technical qualifications and experience

  • Ability to obtain EWRB registration (EST practising licence preferred)
  • Trade certificate (refrigeration mechanic or HVAC)
  • At least 3 years’ industry experience which includes a minimum of 2 years’ experience in HVAC&R Service Supervision.
    • Proven experience in the commercial and industrial service, maintenance and installation of equipment within the HVAC, refrigeration and building services industry
    • Demonstrated experience with controls and building management systems
  • Proven aptitude for managing competing priorities with successful deliverables
  • Excellent ability to build effective relationships with clients
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly relate with clients and peers
  • A current clean NZ Driver Licence or the ability to obtain one, clear Drug & Alcohol tests throughout employment.
