We are seeking a reliable and hardworking commercial cleaner to join our team in Rotorua.The role involves maintaining high cleaning standards across commercial properties,ensuring a safe and hygenic environmrnt for clients and staff.
Purpose of the Role
To maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards across commercial premises such as offices, retail spaces, accommodation facilities, and public areas. The role ensures safe, sanitary, and well‑maintained environments for staff, customers, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, sanitise, and maintain commercial areas including floors, bathrooms, kitchens, corridors, and workspaces.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, polishers, and steam cleaners.
- Perform routine tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces, and emptying rubbish bins.
- Use commercial‑grade chemicals safely according to SDS guidelines and company procedures.
- Refill consumables such as paper towels, toilet tissue, soap, and sanitiser.
- Clean windows, glass panels, mirrors, and high‑touch surfaces.
- Handle deep‑cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, grout scrubbing, descaling, and stain removal.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including correct PPE use and hazard reporting.
- Maintain cleaning logs, checklists, and site‑specific documentation.
- Secure premises after cleaning (locking doors, turning off lights, setting alarms where required).
- Report maintenance issues, damages, or hazards to supervisors or facilities staff
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience in commercial or industrial cleaning environments but not essential.
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and SDS compliance.
- Ability to operate commercial cleaning machinery.
- Understanding of hygiene standards, infection control, and cross‑contamination prevention.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks, lifting, bending, and long periods of standing.
- class 1 licenece ie required.
- Reliability, time management, and attention to detail.
Work Conditions
- Early morning, evening, weekend or night shifts depending on client requirements.
- Work across multiple sites including offices, retail, hospitality, and accommodation facilities.
- Use of PPE such as gloves, masks, and safety footwear.
