Hourly Rate: $30.00 – $35.00

SLF Trading Ltd, trading as Pecks Pantry & Patisserie, is located on Sturges Road, Henderson, Auckland, New Zealand. We operate Monday to Saturday from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Due to the employer’s personal circumstances and family arrangements, we are seeking two bakers to join our team and share our workload shifts.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Check that equipment and work areas are clean and safe before starting production, in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Check the quality of raw materials and accurately weigh ingredients.
  • Mix, knead, mature, cut, mould, and shape dough and pastry products by hand and using machines.
  • Prepare pastry fillings and other bakery ingredients.
  • Monitor oven temperatures and check product appearance to decide correct baking times.
  • Carry out and coordinate forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling of bread, rolls, and pastry products.
  • Operate bakery machines used for rolling and moulding dough and cutting biscuits.
  • Empty, clean, grease, and maintain baking trays, tins, ovens, and other baking equipment.
  • Keep the workplace clean and follow food safety, hygiene, and health and safety rules at all times.
  • Performing other reasonable duties on request.

The successful applicant shall:

  • Have 2 years or more work experience in a bakery or related industry, or
  • Hold a New Zealand Level 4 qualification or above in baking
  • Have a passion for meeting and exceeding customer expectations
  • Be focused on Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards
  • Have good time management skills
  • Be well organized and able to multi-task
  • Be responsible, reliable, and hardworking
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Be willing to work long hours and weekend shifts
