GILL B ENTERPRISES LIMITED is an Auckland-based company specialising in plumbing and drainage services. We are currently seeking multiple Drainlayers to join our team in the Auckland region. The successful candidate will be required to travel across the Auckland region to various job sites. All travel and fuel costs will be covered by the employer.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

·        Read and interpret plans, specifications, and site drawings to determine drainage layouts and installation requirements.

·        Set out and establish site levels in accordance with project plans and regulatory standards.

·        Excavate trenches and prepare ground surfaces for the installation of drainage systems.

·        Install, lay, and join underground pipes for stormwater and wastewater systems.

·        Connect drainage systems to sewer mains, stormwater networks, or disposal systems in compliance with regulations.

·        Test completed drainage systems for leaks, blockages, and overall functionality.

·        Install and construct drainage pits, chambers, and associated components.

·        Ensure correct alignment, gradient, and fall of pipelines to meet engineering specifications.

·        Backfill and compact trenches after installation to maintain site safety and integrity.

·        Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely, including compaction and cutting equipment.

·        Identify and repair faults, leaks, or damaged drainage infrastructure.

·        Comply with all health and safety requirements, building codes, and local council regulations.

·        Coordinate with other trades and site personnel to ensure smooth project progression.

·        Maintain accurate job records and report progress or issues to management.

 

The candidate will be required to work at least 30 hours per week and be paid between $30 to $40 per hour. 

 

Other Requirements:

 

·        A minimum of 2 years’ relevant industry experience.

·        Relevant Drainlayer Registration.

·        Availability to work weekends as required to meet project deadlines.

·        Willingness and ability to travel within the Auckland region to various job sites.

·        Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

·        Physically fit and capable of performing manual outdoor work.

·        High attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship and compliance.

·        Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining safety standards.

·        A reliable team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
