Architectural Lighting Integration Carpenters

We are an electrical service company based in Auckland. We are now looking for 2 Architectural Lighting Integration Carpenters. This is an exciting opportunity for the right people and will allow access into a reputable and experienced company.

Main Tasks of this position:

• Interpreting construction drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures for carpentry works, including suspended ceilings, bulkheads, and feature wall structures.

• Ordering and selecting timber and related materials, and preparing layouts for structural framing, ceiling systems, lighting recesses, and custom wall installations.

• Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling timber components, including battens, framing members, and structural supports, using appropriate carpentry tools and equipment.

• Installing timber framing, structural nogs, and reinforcement supports for fixtures such as mirrors, wall-mounted fittings, heated towel rails, and large lighting installations.

• Constructing suspended ceilings, bulkheads, and feature television walls, including timber framing preparation to accommodate integrated lighting and concealed service installations.

• Modifying timber battens and framing members to accommodate recessed lighting tracks, LED channels, aluminium lighting profiles, and other integrated lighting systems.

• Installing timber framing elements, wall linings, and support structures, ensuring correct alignment, stability, and compliance with construction specifications.

• Performing controlled drilling within permitted structural zones of joists and installing approved metal brackets to support coordinated electrical, lighting, and ventilation systems.

• Carrying out minor joinery adjustments and preparing timber structures to enable concealed LED strip lighting and integrated cabinetry lighting installations.

• Cutting and forming timber joints and assembling prepared components to create structural elements and fittings ready for installation.

Requirements for this position:

·      Have at least 2 year’s solid relevant experience in the same industry/field, or

·      Have a relevant NZ Level 4 qualification or equivalent qualification. This is not required if you have required work experience

·      Able to use power tools

·      Positive and reliable work attitude

·      Good customer service in a fast-pace work environment
