This role is based principally in Hamilton City, however the nature of our operations means the successful applicant may occasionally be required to work or attend duties in other locations across New Zealand, including (but not limited to):

Auckland

Bay of Plenty

Gisborne

Hawkes Bay

Manawatu-Whanganui

Northland

Taranaki

Waikato and Wellington

 

 

  • Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed.
  • Applicants must be physically fit and willing to learn.
  • Applicants must pass pre-employment drug test and have no criminal record.
  • Must have a drivers licence

Work in another locations:

  • The employee will be given reasonable notice when required to work in another location.

  • All work‑related travel costs, including transport and accommodation (where applicable), will be covered by the employer. 

  • Travel or temporary work in another location will not disadvantage the employee in any way.

  • If the employee is unable to travel due to reasonable circumstances, the employer will discuss alternative arrangements.

  • The primary base of employment remains in Frankton, Hamilton City, and this is where the role is principally carried out.

Key Responsibilities:

Roofing Installation & Replacement

  • Removal of existing roofing materials, including roofing sheets and associated components
  • Installation & replacement of metal roofing sheets and cladding systems.
  • Installation of flashings to ensure weatherproofing and water-tight finishes.
  • Installation and repair of guttering and downpipe systems.
  • Application of roofing membranes and waterproofing systems.

Building & Maintenance Works

  • Minor building and repair work associated with roofing projects.
  • Identify and repair of roof leaks and structural defects.
  • Ensure all roofing systems meet manufacturer specifications and building compliance standards.
  • Assist with structural training adjustment & related tasks when required

Site & Safety Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Work safely at heights using appropriate fall-protection systems and equipment.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working condition.
  • Ensure worksites are kept clean, safe, and well organised.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and quality standards at all times.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Proven experience as a roofing installer or roofing technician.
  • Experience in removal and replacement of roofing sheets. 
  • Competency in flashing installation and waterproof detailing.
  • Experience installing  guttering systems.
  • Experience in the application of roofing membranes.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic plans and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
  • Good physical fitness and ability to work safely at heights
