What's in it for you:

  • $45–$49 per hour

  • Paid overtime after 44 hours (1.5x)

  • Rostered Saturdays paid at OT rates

  • Company vehicle

  • Ongoing factory training

  • Strong national brand backing

  • Clear progression toward senior workshop or service management

If you're currently running a workshop floor but still spending most of your day on the tools… this is your opportunity to step up properly.

Our client is seeking a true Workshop Leader to take full responsibility for a team of 11 Technicians and 2 Apprentices in their Palmerston North operation.

This is not a working foreman role.
This is leadership.

About the role:

  • Leading daily workshop operations

  • Allocating work and managing productivity

  • Mentoring senior techs and developing apprentices

  • Supporting complex diagnostics (without being stuck doing them)

  • Driving safety, quality and accountability

  • Working closely with Service and Parts to keep workflow tight

You’ll be measured on team performance, efficiency, culture and output, not how many spanners you turn.

About you:

  • A Senior Diesel Technician ready to come off the tools

  • A Working Foreman wanting less wrench time and more leadership

  • A current Foreman looking for a larger team and stronger structure

  • Someone who enjoys building people, not just fixing trucks

You will have:

  • NZ Level 4 Heavy Diesel Trade Qualification (or equivalent)

  • Strong diagnostic background

  • Proven leadership or team supervision experience

  • Confidence managing performance and holding standards

If you’re respected on the workshop floor and ready to lead properly — this is your move.
