Domestic Movers Limited is seeking reliable and physically fit Furniture Removalists primarily based in Auckland. However, due to the nature of the role, employees must be open to travelling to different locations across New Zealand as required. Adequate notice will be provided, and where overnight travel is required, accommodation will be arranged by the employer.

The role involves lifting, loading, transporting, and delivering furniture and household items during residential and commercial relocations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive removal vans or trucks to various pick-up and delivery locations nationwide.

  • Manoeuvre vehicles into position for safe and efficient loading and unloading.

  • Load and unload furniture using lifting equipment or manual handling techniques while following all health and safety protocols.

  • Estimate load weights and ensure goods are safely distributed within vehicle load limits and road safety requirements.

  • Securely stow and cover goods to prevent damage or loss during transport.

  • Verify loading documents, inspect the condition of goods, and obtain delivery confirmations as required.

  • Conduct routine vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and promptly report any issues.

  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with clients and team members.

Requirements

  • Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy items.

  • Previous experience in furniture removals or a similar role is preferred.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Full NZ Class 1 driver licence or equivalent overseas licence.

  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including occasional weekend work.

What We Offer
