We’re looking for an experienced Automotive Technician in Canterbury.  

  • Relevant tertiary education and/or at least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed.

 

Applicants must have the following as per employer’s requirement:

  • Applicants must be physically fit.
  • Applicants must pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Applicants must provide a CV.
  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Automotive and engine repair experience
  • Fully qualified with relevant certification.
  • Prepared to get additional training or certification, which may include Renault and/or Mitsubishi training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify problems with vehicles using the diagnosis equipment.
  • Plan repair procedures using charts manuals and experience.
  • Perform maintenance and repair work on customer vehicles which may include but is not limited to; oil changes, fluid level checks and tire rotations.
  • Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors and other parts.
  • Liaise with the parts department and/or your Manager as necessary, to order parts for the completion of authorised repairs.
  • Train, mentor and support other Workshop staff with Mitsubishi product knowledge, as required.
  • Prioritise workload to reach the expected KPls (or targets) that the Service Manager set for you. This may be in regard to chargeable hours, billable time spent on jobs and rework.
  • Liaise with the Workshop Manager and Foreman as required, and ensure clear communication within the Workshop at all times.
  • All other tasks as required by the Workshop Manager, as long as these are reasonable and legal.

General Responsibilities:

  • Ability to communicate clearly between all departments to ensure the best outcomes for all customers and suppliers. 
  • To attend any required product training in an industrious and diligent manner.
  • To operate in such a way that best ensures the personal safety and the safety of others in the workplace.
  • To notify the Service Manager and/or the management immediately in regard to any problem/hazard or potential problem/hazard in the workplace or damage made to any equipment in the workplace.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and follow all health and safety guidelines and procedures set out by the company.
  • Not afraid to ask questions or ask for help.
  • To ensure timecard is completed daily .
