Carpenter

Key Responsibilities: 

• Read and interpret building plans, drawings, and specifications to determine materials and construction methods.

• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other building materials accurately.

• Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures such as walls, floors, ceilings, roofing, doors, and window frames.

• Install cabinetry, formwork, framing, and finishing carpentry components.

• Erect and dismantle formwork and falsework for concrete structures.

• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

• Ensure all work complies with the New Zealand Building Code and site safety regulations.

• Work collaboratively with builders, subcontractors, and site managers to meet project deadlines.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment following guidelines from WorkSafe New Zealand.

• Inspect and repair existing structures and fittings where required.

• Estimate materials required and assist with ordering building supplies.

Follow all health and safety procedures 

Requirements: 

At least 2 years experience or level 4 qualification 

Ability to read technical drawings 

Physically fit and ability to work on construction sites, in varying weather conditions

Strong understanding of reinforcing steel installation

Reliable transport and ability to work a team 

On Offer: 

Competitive Horly: $28 to $32 per hour 

Full Time work, Monday to Friday, minimum of 30 hours per week
