About the Role
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing team in Auckland. In this role, you will drive UnicomNZ’s expansion across enterprise and SME sectors, with a focus on cloud communications, IT infrastructure, and smart security solutions.
As we continue to embed AI capabilities into our platforms—such as intelligent data processing, AI-driven customer insights, and automation tools—you will play a key role in translating these innovations into tangible business value for our clients. You will work closely with technical and product teams to shape go-to-market strategies and deliver solutions that are not only reliable but also future-ready.
Key Responsibilities
l Identify and pursue new business opportunities across enterprise and commercial sectors
l Build and nurture long-term relationships with key clients, system integrators, and technology partners
l Lead the full sales cycle: from prospecting and needs analysis to solution design, negotiation, and contract closure
l Collaborate with engineering and product teams to tailor solutions that integrate UnicomNZ’s core ICT capabilities with emerging technologies such as AI and data intelligence
l Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to uncover new growth areas
l Drive customer retention and expansion through proactive account management
l Represent UnicomNZ at industry events, partner meetings, and networking forums
Requirements
Essential:
l Bachelor's degree or above; majors in Marketing, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related fields preferred
l 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or key account management
l Proven track record of successfully leading enterprise client acquisitions and contract negotiations, with deal values exceeding NZD 1 million
l Experienced in managing complex sales cycles and collaborating with technical teams to deliver tailored solutions
l Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
l Self-motivated with a hunter mindset and a strong passion for technology innovation and business growth
Preferred:
l Background in ICT, telecommunications, enterprise services, or technology sectors
l Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI, automation, or data-driven platforms
