Painter

Toughbuilt Home Services Limited, known for providing excellent construction services is seeking skilled Painters to join its team in the Auckland. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of delivering high-quality painting and finishing work across residential and commercial projects. The role requires travel to various job sites within the Auckland and nearby regions depending on project requirements. We will cover all work-related travel and fuel costs.

Key Duties:

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling holes or cracks, and removing old paint or wallpaper.
• Read and interpret work instructions, plans, or specifications to determine appropriate materials, colours, and painting methods.
• Mix and match paints to achieve the required colours, shades, and finishes.
• Apply paint, varnish, stain, polyurethane, or other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, cabinets, and other surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Apply protective coatings, primers, or sealants where required to improve durability and finish quality.
• Protect surrounding areas by covering furniture, floors, and fixtures before painting begins.
• Ensure smooth, even, and high-quality paint finishes in line with project specifications.
• Carry out minor surface repairs or preparation work prior to painting.
• Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Keep the work area clean, organised, and safe, and dispose of waste materials appropriately.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times and work collaboratively with other team members to meet project timelines.
• Apply oil-based and water-based membrane coatings to roofs and other surfaces to provide waterproofing and surface protection.
  

Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and will be paid between $30 to $37 per hour.

Other requirements for the role:

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Available to work on weekends.
• Physically fit to meet the demands of the role, including standing for long periods and performing manual tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality finishes

• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
