We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Storeman to join our team and oversee the daily operations of our store. This role is essential in ensuring the accurate handling, storing, and dispatching of goods, while keeping inventory systems up to date and the workspace well-organized.

  • Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed.  

Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail for managing inventory and stock discrepancies.
  • Proficient with basic computer systems to track inventory and update records.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year relevant work experience is required.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.
  • Comfortable with working in a physically demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Inventory Management:
    • Manage and maintain inventory, ensuring accuracy of stock levels and location.
    • Record and monitor inventory movements within the store to prevent discrepancies.
    • Operate computer systems to access and update stock information, including storage locations and quantities of items in stock.
  • Goods Handling:
    • Receive incoming goods, check for damages, and verify the goods against the accompanying invoices to ensure accuracy.
    • Unload trucks and trailers, open packages, and remove contents as required.
    • Label goods with the correct storage location details.
    • Pack, weigh, and seal boxes for dispatch.
    • Assist with regular stock takes and ensure the proper documentation of all goods handled.
  • Equipment Operation:
    • Operate various equipment, including hydraulic pallet lifters, hand trucks, and manually or electronically guided order pickers, to safely move goods.
    • Use machines to lift, place, and remove goods at various heights as needed.
  • Store Organization and Maintenance:
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment.
    • Ensure that the store is tidy and goods are arranged properly to facilitate easy access and retrieval.
  • Collaboration and Reporting:
    • Report to the owner and management about inventory levels, discrepancies, and any issues that may arise.
    • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation within the store.
