Due to increasing business demand and the expansion of our operations, we are seeking three reliable Forklift Drivers to join our team in Christchurch.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklift controls to position vehicles accurately and raise or lower forks to load, stack, and retrieve materials in warehouses, factories, and shipping facilities.
- Use forklifts operating on guided rails or electronic navigation systems to manoeuvre safely within narrow aisles.
- Move and transport goods and materials to designated storage or operational areas within the workplace.
- Ensure products are placed and organised in appropriate storage locations to allow efficient retrieval when fulfilling orders.
- Monitor forklift performance through visual checks of gauges, instruments, and computerised monitoring systems.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify signs of wear, faults, or potential damage.
- Carry out routine servicing tasks and minor adjustments or repairs to maintain forklift functionality and safety.
- Operate specialised lifting or transport vehicles designed to move loads beneath elevated structures where required.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse and production staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely order processing.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required.
Skills and Experience
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience in related field OR;
- A qualification at NZQCF Level 4 or above in a relevant field, No specific major is required if you have a bachelor’s degree or above
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and safe material handling practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks when required.
