The business requires a Retail Merchandiser to coordinate stock levels, organise product displays, manage replenishment, and maintain category layout standards. This role is essential to ensure product availability, customer appeal, and efficient store operations.

Pay Rate: $30 – $35 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week

 

Key Requirements

  • 2 years of experience or Level 4 qualification.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies that support sales growth and maximise product visibility.
  • Design and maintain attractive product displays, shelf layouts, and promotional setups throughout the store.
  • Ensure correct product placement, category organisation, and adherence to store planograms.
  • Monitor stock levels daily and replenish shelves to maintain product availability.
  • Carry out regular inventory counts, stock rotation, and expiry‑date checks.
  • Analyse sales data and customer buying trends to inform merchandising decisions.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and wholesalers regarding stock deliveries, shortages, and promotional materials.
  • Implement and maintain pricing, ticketing, and promotional signage across all categories.
  • Assist with selecting new products, categories, and seasonal items suitable for a convenience/dairy retail store.
  • Prepare and manage seasonal merchandising transitions and special in‑store promotions.
  • Conduct market comparisons to understand competitor pricing, product selection, and display standards.
  • Collaborate with store management on sales forecasts, merchandising budgets, and promotional activity planning.
  • Maintain clean, organised, and visually appealing shelves and display zones.
  • Identify slow‑moving products and recommend markdowns or promotional adjustments.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate delivery schedules and promotional deals when required.
  • Prepare weekly merchandising reports and provide insights to store owners.Ensure products are properly labelled, scanned, and retail‑ready at all times.
  • Maintain compliance with health & safety standards for product displays, shelving, and store layout.
  • Support loss prevention efforts by monitoring stock handling, shrinkage, and irregularities.
  • Assist store team members with customer queries regarding product location, availability, or promotions.
