Travel Consultant – Auckland North Shore
About the Company
Our company is a travel service provider based on Auckland’s North Shore. We specialise in organising customised travel arrangements for clients travelling within New Zealand, including itinerary planning, accommodation bookings, attraction reservations, and transport coordination.
With increasing demand from our clients, the company is seeking a motivated and organised Travel Consultant to join the team.
Position Available: Travel Consultant
Location: Auckland North Shore
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
Hours of Work: Minimum 30 hours per week
Pay Rate: NZD $30 – $40 per hour (depending on skills and experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand travel requirements, preferences, and budgets, and provide suitable travel advice and itinerary options.
- Plan and organise travel arrangements including accommodation, attractions, transportation, and related services.
- Make and manage travel bookings using reservation systems and supplier channels, ensuring accuracy and timely confirmations.
- Communicate with tourism operators, hotels, and transport providers to coordinate services and resolve booking-related matters.
- Monitor travel schedules and assist clients with itinerary adjustments or operational changes when required.
- Maintain booking records and prepare travel documentation to support smooth tour delivery.
- Provide destination information and practical travel guidance to clients.
- Assist with general tour operations support and post-travel administrative tasks.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- A relevant qualification at NZQF Level 4 or above in tourism, travel, hospitality, business, or a related field;
OR
- At least two years of relevant work experience in travel consulting, tour coordination, booking management, or tourism operations.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and external service providers.
- Ability to manage multiple bookings and work under time pressure.
- Knowledge of New Zealand tourism destinations and travel logistics will be an advantage.
- Experience using travel reservation systems or booking platforms is preferred.
